Advanced Placement(AP) U.S. History Teaching Biased Falsehoods

On his Substack page, Greg Price did a detailed assessment of how AP U.S. History textbooks, taught primarily in U.S. high schools, are covering the years of Donald Trump’s presidency, so 2016-2020, in addition to January 6th, 2021, what the U.S. mainstream media has lied to the U.S. public about as a major insurrection of the U.S. Capitol building to thwart the certification of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election.

Price’s commentary covers the gamut of the false conspiracy theory of Trump colluding with Russia to rig the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election, the false allegations of Trump sexually assaulting several women and making racist remarks, to stating that Trump told his supporters to “disrupt the congressional proceeding on certifying the [2020 U.S. Presidential] election”. These narratives are being taught “in five of the most commonly used AP U.S. History textbooks that cover all the way through the Trump presidency.” Furthermore, “The books all appear on the College Board’s list of textbooks that meet the AP Course Audit curricular requirements.”

When I took AP U.S. History in high school, my class was given The American Pageant textbook to read, which is one of the textbooks pushing the above-described biased and false narratives.

Price takes apart the false and severely biased(against Donald Trump) narrative piece by piece. He further points out how these textbooks don’t even come close to equally scrutinizing or criticizing the other side, namely Clinton, both former President Bill and then candidate Hillary, whom Trump defeated in 2016. The textbooks don’t mention any of the women who’ve accused Bill Clinton of sexually assaulting them, such as Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick, or Kathleen Willey. The textbooks hardly make any mention of Hillary Clinton running an illegal email server, which is a felony, while she served as Secretary of State under former President Barack Obama.

Probably none of the textbooks will cover how Hillary Clinton, also as Obama’s Secretary of State, signed off on the deal in 2010 that granted Rosatom, the Russian nuclear energy agency, to acquire a controlling stake in Uranium One, a Canadian-based company with mining stakes in the Western United States. At the time, Uranium One’s two licensed mining operations in Wyoming amounted to about “20 percent of the currently licensed uranium in-situ recovery production capacity in the U.S.” Uranium One also has exploration projects in Arizona, Colorado and Utah. While many, like factcheck.org, point out that the deal required many other signatures besides Hillary Clinton’s, she still signed off on the deal when she absolutely shouldn’t have, making her equally guilty as all the other signatories. Had she not signed off on the Uranium Deal, it wouldn’t have materialized. If anything was Russian collusion between Trump’s and Hillary Clinton’s deeds, this Uranium One Deal was it. But disturbingly, hardly any, if indeed any at all, of the textbooks mention this.

While the full documentation of bias and falsehoods in the textbooks could very well be an entire textbook itself, the point is that even in the most prestigious and proclaimed highest levels of academia, the U.S. education system has deteriorated so severely, and it is impacting and influencing the nation’s high-school students to believe severely slanted falsehoods, with very little likelihood that most of them will learn the truth and undo the garbage that U.S. high schools are teaching, to even the most talented students i.e. AP levels. Even if they do eventually learn, how many years will it take; will it actually take decades?

The deterioration in the U.S. education system is very much in line with the severe cultural and ethical degradation consuming the nation, which seems to be accelerating, leading U.S. civilization to eventual demise. More likely than not, the rest of the Western world has adopted the same destructive trajectory in both its education systems along with its cultural and ethical integrity.

To make matters worse, neither the school administrators or parents seem inclined to oppose and thwart this deterioration. Either the administrators and parents are in on it, are oblivious to it, or won’t take the time and effort to learn about it, let alone take strong action to undo it.

Will that change though?

That gets into the forecast of this post. Due to the lack of sufficient levels of knowledge, inclination and/or effort by parents or school board administrators, at least on a nationally wide-scale level, this above-described deterioration of the U.S. education system will continue, and likely become more severe. As such, the youth today that will one day graduate from these severely degraded and corrupted institutions will likely become inclined towards more corrupt, big-government ideas, and less inclined towards liberty, let alone an absolute defense of fundamental rights.

There are some solutions and workarounds to this, primarily home-schooling, along with other alternatives to public government schools. However, these alternatives, especially homeschooling, take great effort and sacrifices, like time and employment, by parents to implement and achieve. Sadly, most parents don’t seem either inclined or capable of making these alternative arrangements, preferring the “easy” route of just sending their children to these corrupt and biased public government schools. Sure some parents will make these righteous efforts and sacrifices, but they’ll most likely be a minority, and so the above-described forecast holds.

Let’s pray for this post’s forecast to be wrong. Only time will tell.
